Glass Half Full brings the best of spirits, cocktails and mixology to the Greater Sydney region. With a strong belief that the best thing to have with a good drink is good company, we strive to bring people together through our unique experiences, designed to delight all crowds.
What started as a passion project in late 2019, with making a few cocktails here and there, quickly went from an interest to more of a fascination. Truly understanding and appreciating the magic behind spirits, cocktails and mixology became a quest. Throughout that quest came the realisation to share with others this same understanding and appreciation. There is more to just drinking, there is tasting! There is more to just cocktails, there is the how and why behind each well made cocktail! And there is more to just mixology, there is the practice and methodology behind it!
Mostly serving the Greater Sydney region (and sometimes beyond), Glass Half Full provides a variety of carefully curated experiences, delivered with passion and expertise. Our occasional ticketed Whisky Tasting events take place to integrate and educate the whisky community. No matter the individual’s level of whisky knowledge, these events welcome all who wish dive into the wonderful world of whisky. If getting out to these events is too difficult, organise a private tasting with us at your own home, venue of choice, or one of our partner venues. There is also a number of cocktail focused masterclasses to choose from, as well as having your very own private bartender for your next event.
With a keen attitude for education and passion for quality, our aim is to do what we can to help you enjoy that next drink you have just a little bit more.
About us:
Founder: Lucas Bucton
Lucas founded Glass Half Full when he started bartending in 2019. His passion and enthusiasm is reflected in the experiences he hosts. Over a number of years being behind different bars, in and around numerous distilleries, and speaking with many great minds, Lucas has culminated the knowledge and insight to ensure that Glass Half Full delivers the best possible experience. Having earned multiple qualifications in a variety of spirits, cocktails and mixology courses, he continues to strive to improve his knowledge and is always on the hunt to learn something new.
Favourite Spirit: “I’m usually happy to drink pretty much any spirit, but whisk(e)y is a clear winner for me. My favourite whisk(e)y specifically is hard to narrow down on, I always say it depends on the time of day, the weather, the mood etc. However I do have the Redbreast 27 logo tattooed on me, so I guess that’s a fair answer.”
Favourite Cocktail: “Well if I had to answer that with a classic cocktail, I think I will say a Manhattan. But if we are looking at something more modern, probably a Penicillin or Paper Plane. Really, anything from Sam Ross is always fantastic!”
Most Important Mixology Rule: “I’d have to say something to do with temperature, so let’s go with always chill your glassware. Oh and can I also add use the right ice?”
